Claridians are reptiles, and likely cold-blooded because of it. The cold doesn't affect them as much.

I am finding men's clothing to be fairly comfortable. [Svala laughs a bit, and smooths his cheeks and brow, almost giving him a facial before moving on to rub his neck.] I suppose I could continue to wear it upon our return home. I imagine I would shock most of my court doing so; it would be very amusing.

I am worried for my people; there are measures in place, of course, for another aristo to assume the throne temporarily upon my incapacitation or disappearance, but it would destroy me to see my kingdom fall due to my negligence. [She pauses; her hands still on Ed's neck and her voice falls slightly.]

...I cannot imagine what Volsung has had to suffer.
