Nothing... there's nothing you can do. It's in the past, and you can't change that. Even if they have a former lover, they've chosen to care about you, haven't they? So that means they're ready to move on, at least in part. It doesn't mean they're settling for less, or that they don't still love the other person. It doesn't make you a replacement, either.

...It's difficult to describe, really, but I think that's the best way I can put it.

So perhaps you should talk to her. Gently - it may be a delicate issue for her - but there's no harm in checking to see if she's at least interested. The worst she can do is say no.
