[A little extra cheese is fine, but Sigmund borrows some scraps of cheese to toss into his salad. Two soldier guys cooking mediocre food seems to be a good time.]

[Sigmund sees what Edward did there. He's skilled enough not to drop anything, but he's going to brush against Edward in response. Flirting is fun.]

[Way to be silly, a pair of buff soldiers poking at each other in the kitchen. Luckily they're still technically 17 - well, 18 now - so it's allowed. And since no one's looking and the soup needs to simmer for a while, he sneaks over and hugs Sigmund from behind, chin on the other man's shoulder to watch him work. His favourite pastime.]

[Sigmund relaxes into Edward's embrace, chuckling to himself as he mixes the dressing.]

Rather curious, I see.

[Edward blinks, glancing sidelong at him. He didn't hear any protests or hidden warnings, so he stayed where he was.]

Perhaps a little, my lord. It's rare that you prepare food yourself.

[Sigmund meets his gaze with an approving one of his own. In fact, he's rather comfortable where he is.]

Svala has taken it upon herself to make me various soups as a response to her Christmas present. It isn't often I get to make my own food.

Am I being too unoriginal, then to suggest this? [Oh dear, fret fret... still not moving though...]

Originality is no concern of mine. I am glad that you wish to do something like this in the first place. [Turns to place a kiss on his cheek.]

[Okay, he's relaxed again, and smiling. Sigmund gets a little nuzzle. The puppy is officially happy.]

It need not be saved for special occasions. Whenever you want soup, I'd be happy to make it for you.

[He gets more nuzzling in response. Sigmund is happy too.]

If that is the case, I would like to know something I can make for you as well.

[Ed rests his cheek against Sigmund's hair. The metal of his headband is cool against his skin, but the hair is soft, so it's nice.]

I must confess, I have a weakness for salads - which is exactly what you're making for us right now.

[How cute. Sigmund nuzzles him again.]

Salad, hmm? We are quite the pair.

A dinner of appetizers. [If he were a dog he'd be wagging his tail.] If you feel up to the challenge, I also enjoy beef.

Soup is so much more than that.

I may give that a try. You get plenty of exercise, but you also need to eat well.

I eat well enough, most days.

But you need your health.

I'm in fine health, my lord. You need not worry about that.

I should, if I'm to make sure you're well fed.

Worry about feeding Capell, he's the one who needs the meat.

I will do that as well. He and I are starting to get along better now.

I've noticed, my lord. You both seem genuinely happier.

I am glad to have him as a part of my life once more. I am glad to be surrounded by this entire family.
