[Waking up in a patch of grass in the middle of the woods is more of a relief than it might normally have been for Edward, or anyone else for that matter. The last memory he has of himself in his right mind is of the Malnosso, and their strange and terrifying ability to summon Lunar Rain seemingly out of nowhere. After that, he'd...

...He'd done terrible, shameful things, and he had far too much to apologize for. Which he should get right on doing.

Except he's completely lacking the level of courage needed to do that, so for a while he just sits in the grass, legs tucked against his chest, and watches the sun rise through the trees. It's... the east, right? So that means he's...

[He finally returns and all he can do is ask for directions? Pathetic.

Though it'll take him some time to get home and then find the courage to do what he knows has to be done, over the course of the day he'll be attempting to visit two spots: the smithy and Winry's house, specifically, if he can't find her in the plaza. If he happens upon anyone he attacked while he was vermified, he's definitely going to apologize, too.]

[Aldo freezes as he sees someone who looks vaguely familiar in the plaza. Only vaguely, because last time he saw him, he had black things growing out of him all over and had been trying to kill him.

Well... staring now. Don't mind him, he's trying to figure out if you're going to try to kill people again and if he should run. He really, really wished his bow had shown up in the shops.]

[Edward doesn't notice at first, rather occupied by the fact that even in the plaza he looks (and feels) rather lost. Still, someone staring at him is kind of hard to miss, especially when that someone seems oddly familiar. Hasn't he seen someone like that befo-

Ah... Y-yes? [Well... he didn't speak before, did he...? That's a good sign, right....? Oh dear he didn't want to die again.]

[Definitely a good thing. Edward hastily approaches (though hopefully not too close, not wanting to scare the poor man) and bows his head, obviously ashamed.]

I must apologize...! My behaviour before was unprovoked and wrong. Had I been in my right mind, I would never have attacked you...

[Yeah, totally jumping at that approach, but he pauses when Edward bows his head. Give him a few second to calm down and process this. So..... He wasn't insane. That's good. Very good.]

So, you're not normally like that? [A relieved sigh.] Thank goodness!

Well, as long as you don't attack me again, It's ok?

[Edward straightens up again, nodding at once. He's not sure if it's better that he hadn't attacked an actual friend, or worse to have made such a terrible first impression.]

[Seriously, though. He'd been kind of paranoid about getting jumped for a few days after his arrival, even with Ted's reassurance it wasn't normal.]

That's good, then! You didn't hurt me or Ted too badly, so it's ok. [Besides, if Ted hadn't saved him... who knows when he'd have managed to find out he was here.]

[He's pretty sure he can't apologize enough for that. Though this guy seems fairly easygoing; that's good.]

[Aldo frowns and pauses at that.] He's.... not here right now. I think it was one of those kidnappings peeople speak of.

H-he'll be back soon though, right?

[Nah. They had that conversation. It's just the awkward aftereffects and Ted avoiding him that's continuing. Though the idea of someone helping to look for Ted makes him perk up a bit.]

[Sigmund has taken to watching the journals anxiously over the last few days - where was he? He should be back by now, shouldn't he? What's taking so long? - although now that he has what he was waiting for, he... can't seem to find his voice to answer. It's as if the thought alone makes his throat start to close up. After long moments of trying, he finally has to go and gulp down a glass of water before he can make himself speak.]

[See, Aldo, you just have to be a proper stalker. The lost puppy thing doesn't work nearly as well. Now what else is he supposed to do in proper, non-violent conversation again? Oh, right.]

[Speaking of hesitation. Edward lacks a convenient water source to try to properly drown his throat; all he can do is clear it and hope for the best. Though the status of his voice is the least of his problems at this point.

No, the more important foe to face now is a familiar one to him: awkwardness.]
